My Coaching Background
I was born in 1975, in London, England. At the age of nine, I moved to the Netherlands, where I attended grammar school.
After graduating as a physical therapist of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, I worked within various sectors of the Dutch healthcare industry, including a rehabilitation centre, a number of private practices and a hospice for the terminally ill.
Gradually, over the course of approximately 2,000 patient sessions, I became aware of how much physical, but also psychological suffering we could prevent as human beings, if only we were taught from a young age how to develop and maintain a healthy relationship with our bodies, but also with our emotions, our thoughts and our beliefs.
A Holistic Approach
As a physical therapist, I developed a more holistic approach, which was focused both on physical well-being and also psychological well-being.
Between 2008 and 2012, I worked with a team of psychologists, physical therapists and occupational physicians to provide therapeutic assistance to patients suffering from a variety of physical and psychological complaints.
I helped patients to develop healthy exercise, nutrition, hydration and sleep habits. I also helped patients to effectively transform unproductive thoughts, unpleasant emotions and limiting beliefs.
Throughout my career, I followed a series of courses related to psychology, personality types and systemic therapy (including family constellations).
In 2012, I started working as an independent coach.
